Recently, regulators from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced that an additional 5 million vehicles would be recalled due to faulty Takata airbag installations. This brings the total number of vehicles involved in the recall to 28 million.
As most people are already aware, there have been a number of injuries and deaths associated with the defective safety devices. Under the right conditions, the airbag inflator can detonate inside the steering wheel, sending shards of metal flying inside the vehicle like a grenade. Unfortunately, this latest round of recalls is connected to yet another death, bringing the total number of fatalities to 10. Continue reading
