An investigation is underway into what caused a massive fireball to erupt at a gun range in Fresno last week. Of the 11 individuals who were injured at the scene, 3 remain in critical condition while one other is listed as serious at the burn and trauma center in Fresno during this construction site accident.
As reported by KCRA 3, the explosion occurred around 2:30 pm at the Fresno County Sheriff’s gun range, just off of Highway 99. The Sheriff’s Office confirmed that a work crew comprised of county jail inmates and other construction workers were using heavy equipment in and around the range at the time. Nearby residents claimed it sounded like a bomb going off. “It was shooting up to 200 feet or more, and a fireball maybe 10 to 15 feet in diameter. It was like out of a movie,” one witness reported.
