Motorcycle accidents in California are rarely minor events. Because of the design, speed, and areas in which these kinds of collisions happen, they often leave riders badly injured.
Accident survivors are often left with permanent and life altering injuries. Paralysis, amputation, and brain damage are common in motorcycle accidents. So, when someone is able to walk away without devastating injuries, they beat the odds. Such as the case with one Davis police officer last week.
Two motorcycle officers were in search of a stolen vehicle in the area of County Road 105D near Sacramento. One drifted and clipped the other. A spokesman for the department stated, “As he was looking to the left, he drifted to the right and clipped the other bike.” The officer who caused the accident was flown to UC Davis Medical Center via ambulance with an injured leg. The other policeman involved in the accident wasn’t harmed.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the collision. Of course, any accident that happens while on company time can be covered by worker’s compensation. But, there are instances when other factors may have contributed to the accident. A skilled attorney can investigate your accident and hold the at-fault party responsible.
